London – Leading business intelligence consultancy CRI has acquired Menas Associates (“Menas”), the strategic, political risk and integrity consultancy, in a move which strengthens CRI’s offering in MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia, and adds a global network of experts to its portfolio.
Underscoring its offering to law firms, corporates and financial services clients, the acquisition will add significant resources to the CRI umbrella. It comes at a time when CRI has been expanding, including the hire of Amelie de Borchgrave as Managing Director from KPMG last year.
Menas will continue to operate as a standalone business, providing clients with the highest quality political risk analysis, and Dr Charles Gurdon will continue as Managing Director of the firm.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for CRI and we are looking forward to unlocking the potential of both companies. The move adds depth to our regional coverage, notably in the Middle East – in countries such as Saudi, UAE, Syria and Libya – but also in Nigeria and Brazil and elsewhere.
“It also adds an established geopolitics service line to our strategic intelligence offering, so could not be more timely. With a long and impressive track record of delivering expert geopolitical risk and consulting,I’m grateful for the opportunity to take Menas forward. We’re genuinely thrilled to be able to offer the expertise of Menas’ formidable network to our client base.”
“Menas has established a reputation for providing sophisticated intelligence in often-challenging jurisdictions across the MENA region, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and parts of Asia. We pride ourselves on working with integrity and delivering a professional tailored product. InCRI I believe we have found the right partner to embark on a new phase for the company.
“Since 1979 – when we began working on border disputes and arbitration cases – we have produced over 7,000 bespoke analytical reports, covering over 75 different countries, to around 100 different commercial, legal and government clients.”
CRI was founded in 2012 by Chris Robinson and has a presence in the UK and US, offering due diligence, strategic intelligence and litigation support to the world’s leading companies.
It is ranked by Chambers & Partners as a leading consultancy for investigative due diligence and Chris Robinson is individually ranked in the same practice area.
Amelie de Borchgrave joined the firm as Managing Director from KPMG in 2024, further strengthening the firm.
The Menas acquisition cements its position as a globally-established provider of bespoke intelligence consulting.
Menas has been led by Dr Charles Gurdon since 1988.
It provides strategic, political and integrity consulting to clients across the world and is highly-respected for its work globally.
